CANOPUS REATREAT THULUSDHOO

On the island of Thulusdhoo, in the North Malé region, with a spectacular view over the famous Cokes right hander.

The Canopus Retreat Thulusdhoo is 30 minutes by speedboat from the International Malé Airport. Built in 2015, it is one of the island’s most recent guest houses. The atmosphere is welcoming and it is located on the Thulusdhoo beach, with its white sand and crystal clear water. This is the right choice for people who want to relax and experience the local culture.

Water sports centre, surfing, fishing, jet-ski, diving, snorkelling, canoeing and bicycle rental.

Restaurants

There is a restaurant onsite which offers local and international cuisine. The Maldives are a fully Muslim country and sale and consumption of alcohol on the local islands is strictly forbidden and punishable by law. The Guest House organizes visits to nearby resorts for dinners.

Available Excursions

Activities include visits to local islands and other resorts, excursions to Malé, diving, snorkelling and fishing are available but must be booked beforehand. (not included in the program).

Credit Cards

Neither credit nor debit cards are accepted on the Island and there are no ATM machines. Although the official Maldivian currency is the Rufiyaa, American Dollars are accepted in the local shops. We suggest you buy Dollars before travelling, or exchange to the local currency at Malé airport upon arrival.

Transport/ Transfer

The international Malé airport is approximately 30 minutes away by speedboat. The local ferry operates a daily connection (except on Tuesdays) between Malé (the capital) and Thulusdhoo. The ticket costs 3 USD per person, per trip and departs from Malé at 15h30 and from Thulusdhoo at 7h30 (except on Fridays when it departs from Thulusdhoo at 14h30 and [INCOMPLETO]

The Cokes right hander is in front of the guest house, and the Chickens left hander on the other side of the channel is 5 minutes away by dinghy. The remaining peaks in North Malé are 40 minutes away by dhoni.

Dress code

You are advised to where discrete clothing and respect the Islamic restrictions. Men should always wear a shirt or t-shirt and women should have their shoulders and thighs covered. Nowadays it is possible to wear bikinis or bathing suits on the beach in some islands, but only at certain beaches. You should always ask what the local restrictions are.
