Climate
The climate in the Maldives is tropical, hot (29-32ºC), and humid year-round, defined by two monsoons. From April to November, the southwest monsoon brings more unstable weather with some rain and wind, making it the best time for surfing. From December to March, the climate is defined by the northeast monsoon, a drier and sunnier period, though with less swell.
Surf seasons
Surf seasons vary by atoll: the North Malé Atoll operates from March to November, the South Malé Atoll and the Central Atolls from May to September, and the Southern Atolls from March to April (the peak season) and from September to November.

• April to November - SW monsoon - more unstable weather, ideal for surfing
Some tips and material that we recommend
Bring two to three boards, prepared for small days, medium days, and larger or more powerful days.
You must wear booties, a long-sleeved rash guard, and a hat or helmet. Don't forget to bring a repair kit, tropical wax and a scraper, as well as spare leashes, fin keys, and fins, ideally in excess, in case they are hard to find locally.
Wear high-quality, water-resistant, and preferably reef-safe SPF 50 sunscreen to protect your skin during long surfing sessions (solar radiation near the Equator is particularly intense). Polarized sunglasses are also essential for time spent out of the water.

A small repair kit can save your day if your board gets damaged.
Bring essential or commonly needed medications (as they may be difficult to find at your destination), including insect repellent, bandages, and painkillers. A cream for skin irritations can also be helpful.
The climate is tropical, hot, and humid, so you should pack light and breathable clothing, such as t-shirts, shorts, sundresses, swimsuits, bikinis, and flip-flops. Don't forget to bring a light sweater for cooler nights.
A passport with at least 6 months of validity from the date of travel, a visa if required, credit/debit cards, and some cash in US dollars, which are widely accepted.
To capture the epic waves and stunning scenery, a waterproof camera is a must. If you like to film with a drone, pay attention to the mandatory authorization that you will have to apply to the entity that governs air navigation in the Maldives.

It went very well. Etihad flights were comfortable and, on the way back, we were able to choose the seats for free. We really liked the guest house Season Paradise - we note the friendliness of the staff, who did everything to make the stay memorable. The environment was very pleasant and the diving and snorkeling activities were excellent. The beach was beautiful and the whole island exceeded our expectations. I didn't surf, but whoever did seemed very satisfied. 😃 A memorable trip! We count on your agency for future adventures.
The experience was great! The airline had no delays and offered good food. The boat transfer was immediate and efficient. The guesthouse met expectations, with a super attentive team, and even adjusted the dinner to the request of the children. I loved the island and the interaction with the local population, always very receptive. The waves were amazing and the kids loved to surf the different peaks. The only problem was the lack of boards to rent, but I got one at the end and had fun on it!
My stay was amazing! Franckie, the owner, is five stars, always attentive and available to guarantee a great experience and suggest activities on the island. Mathis, the surf guide, is generous and always present, as is the captain of Dhonis, also impeccable. Surfing has great potential and little crowd, and trips to the spots were fun, with the chance to catch fresh tuna. Meals, a delicious blend of French, Maldivian and Indian cuisine, offered fresh fish and local fruits every day. I recommend!

Where is it located?
The Maldives is located in the Indian Ocean, south of India and Sri Lanka. The country consists of an archipelago of about 1,200 coral islands, distributed across 26 natural atolls. Geographically, the Maldives lies close to the Equator, with approximate coordinates between 7°3'N and 0°42'S latitude and 72°33'E and 73°45'E longitude.
